MoneyByRamey.com January 2024 Dividends
January 2024 dividends came in at $596.11 which represents a 114.54% increase vs. $277.86 worth of dividends earned in January 2023.
We did do a bit of house cleaning in February (which you’ll see reflected in our February payouts). Mainly this was to make some capital available for a real estate purchase. The other motivating factor was to sell some of our stocks at a seemingly high point as well.
Below I’ve included my dividends by month graph, check it out and see the trends. We have sold about $100K of our portfolio for real estate the past two years, but even though dividends take a short-term hit, they usually recover within a short time span.

2023 Reflections and 2024 Outlook
2023 was an interesting year for stocks. Markets continued upward though economic headwinds are everywhere in sites. I don’t remember seeing as many layoffs, especially from large companies.
I think 2024 will be a challenge – interest rates are stymying economic growth and companies are being focused on cost cutting measures wherever possible. A lot of the new spending is being driven by government, which becomes unsustainable at such high interest rate levels.
In fact, we’ve been seeing the deficient increase by nearly a $1 Trillion every 3 months, on pace for $4 Trillion throughout the year.
Needless to say, this is unsustainable. We need to get a handle on this and fast, otherwise your and my money will become worthless (which is why we’re seeing runs on bitcoin and gold).
Regardless, we’ve seen this play out before. I remain bullish that we can and will figure out the obstacles that lie ahead of us. Upward and Onward my Financial Freedom seekers!
