Fun fact: It costs the U.S. Mint 3.7 cents to make a penny worth… well, one cent. Taxpayers have been footing that backwards bargain for years, sparking endless debates over whether it’s time to retire the most expensive coin in our pockets.
THE GREEN ROOM.
MONEY THOUGHT
Money is a mirror. It doesn’t change who you are; it just amplifies what’s already inside. Generous people become more generous, reckless people become more reckless.
Money is also stored time. Every dollar you earn is a slice of your life you traded away. How you spend it is how you decide to relive that time.
Finally, money is both infinite and scarce. There will always be more money in the world, but you only get one lifetime to earn, use, and enjoy it.
TICKER TALK
Ok, let’s talk about Tesla (TSLA).
I know, this is not a surprise, but let me add something to the mix you may not be aware of.
Tesla’s second quarter was weak, with falling deliveries, shrinking profits, and regulatory credits no longer propping up results like they once did. Strip out those credits, and the decline is still real but less dramatic—a reminder that short-term noise can exaggerate the story.
What matters is where Tesla is heading: testing robotaxis, rolling out its humanoid robot, and scaling energy storage alongside EVs. The auto market is soft, and turbulence will likely continue. Still, Tesla’s push into AI and automation shows a company evolving into something far bigger than just cars—an evolution patient investors may want to keep in mind.
Disclosure: Kalen personally owns shares of TSLA and plans to be a long-term holder. As always, this isn’t financial advice — just sharing what we’re watching. This is not a solicitation to buy. Consult a financial advisor before making any investment decisions.

TIME HACK.
ON SYSTEMS
If you want to get more done, start by shrinking the menu of decisions you make each day.
Every choice—what to wear, what to eat, which email to answer first—chips away at your mental energy.
The trick? Standardize the stuff that doesn’t really matter.
Pick a go-to breakfast, keep a “default outfit” for work, or set a standing daily schedule for deep work.
By trimming those small, draining decisions, you free up brainpower for the work that actually moves the needle.
You can explore this concept further in this article.

Nvidia is developing a new Blackwell-based AI chip for China, tentatively called the B30A, that will be more powerful than its current H20 model but still scaled down to meet U.S. export rules, though approval remains uncertain amid trade tensions and security concerns. [Reuters]

This bull market isn’t fueled by Fed or Treasury liquidity but by AI-driven equity gains, hyperscaler capex, and crypto treasury companies that recycle capital into tokens, creating a reflexive flywheel that can keep risk assets climbing until capex slows, ETF demand fades, or labor and inflation shocks force a reset. The FIRE movement offers a powerful framework for financial freedom, but it often misses the mark by overemphasizing money, chasing perfection at the cost of “good enough,” and framing retirement as escape rather than purposeful work, when the real goal should be building a life of purpose, connection, and joy.
